Auxiliary news - Suzie Bailey

Summer is finally here.  I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful WARM weather. I am.

We have 2 new members.  They are Maria Bonilla and Raquel Moreno.  Please help us welcome them to our Auxiliary.

The 2011 cards are here and you can send in your dues even though National has not sent the reminders.  Your cards will be at the bar and those not picked up within a month will be mailed to the member. Our members that live out of our area will be sent as soon as we receive payment.  THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT HAS PAID ALREADY.  Be an early bird and you get to come to the early bird breakfast in November. Our dues are still only $20.

Thanks to all our members that attended August meeting.  I know we are all very busy but the meetings only last 1 hour at the most. After the meeting we serve refreshments.  This isn't dinner. The money from sale of tickets for the bottle pays for the refreshments.

We are still saving the store coupons. I mail a box to the U. S. Navy commissary we adopted in Sigonella, Sicily every 4 to 6 weeks.  Thanks to all who help with the cutting. These help the men and women based there.

Our next meeting will be Sept. 16 at 6 pm.  Hope to see you there.

2nd Vice President Janet Garmon

WOW! Summer is almost gone. Back to school.

Our Post picnic is October 2nd, 11 AM to 5 PM. It will be at Mariner Park. The cost for Post 255 Members is $5, non-Post 255 Member attendees $8, kids eleven and under $3. Come out and have a great time.

Our first Fish Fry is October 1st, if you would like to help give me a call (619) 477-3055. I will be on vacation September 4th through the 20th so leave me a message.

See you down at the Post.

Secretary Elena “Sissy” Miller RELAY FOR LIFE (RFL)

Thank you to all that supported our Fundraising efforts for Relay For Life of National City. You have help raise $70,000 dollars for the American Cancer Society. What an awesome job! Thank you so much!!

I will be collecting donations for the National Guard Food bank, so those that would like to donate dollars or canned or non perishable foods, please bring them down to the Legion.  I will have a box labeled " Food Drive".

The September Cook Your Own Steak Night has been cancelled.

SUSAN G. KOHLMAN 3 DAY WALK

One of our Juniors, Jackie Dooley will be walking in the November 3 Day Walk.  To walk she has to raise $2,300.  Jackie has been a Junior in the Post since birth and is a senior at Morse High School. There will be Saturday Breakfast on September 25th and Nov 6th to help with her fundraising.

The breakfast will consist of ham or bacon or sausage, eggs to order, biscuits & gravy, home frys (with onions & peppers) and white, wheat bread or English muffins. This delicious meal will only be $5.  Ardy will be the cook. We will be serving from 9 am until 11:30 am. We have some volunteers but can always use more.

If you would like to donate to Jackie’s walk the forms are at the Post or call Suzie Bailey and she will get one to you.  This is tax deductable.  There is a special form for Jackie to get credit.  We are nearly half way there with the donations but need your HELP.
